About Riverbank

Riverbank is nestled in the heart of the Central Valley, located along the scenic Stanislaus River and State Highway 108. With a population of 22,678, Riverbank has seen many positive changes in recent years.

Recently, the city has completed several downtown revitalization improvements. This has resulted in eye-pleasing streets, sidewalks, and Plaza del Rio Park, which boasts the famous bronze figure of a ferryman. The ferryman is considered symbolic for Riverbank's history and was designed by Betty Saletta of Oakdale. San Joaquin Valley Regional Blueprint recognized Riverbank's revitalization projects with the prestigious 2010 Downtown Revitalization Award.

Riverbank is also home to a Civic Art Collection, which consists of various bronze statues placed around the city. Most recently, a replica of three young fishermen was raised in the Oakdale Road median near Claribel Road. Near City Hall North is a statue of a girl sitting on a globe, which complements the Sister Cities mural nearby.

Riverbank is also home to the "crown jewel" Jacob Meyers Park, located along the Stanislaus River. This scenic park is definitely a site to see when touring the area.

Riverbank holds a famous annual Cheese and Wine Exposition that recently celebrated it 37th anniversary, hosted by the Riverbank Rotary Club. Award winning wines and cheeses, as well as wares from over 200 artisans and crafters from around the United States, are available at this exciting street festival.

Blending the new with the old, Riverbank maintains a sense of harmony with the surrounding rural and agricultural heritage. Riverbank is a wonderful and pleasant community to live in or visit.
